Preliminary tasks
We were set to create two preliminary videos of a 180 degree conversation between 2 people, one good and one bad.

This is our good preliminary task presenting what a conversation should be filmed like. We filmed one of our characters opening a door walking to the table then included a 4 line conversation while practising the 180 degree rule. This rule is when you don't change sides of the subjects shoulders, you stay on one side of the line hence where it gets its name the '180 degree rule'. In this clip we experimented with this rule to show a piece of conversational media text. We then used final cut pro to edit the shots.

This is our bad preliminary task showing what a conversation in the 180 degree rule shouldn't be filmed like. Within the clip the mistakes made such as not including a large variety of shots and angles made the clip very boring. The characters are placed in the wrong positions as they keep changing seats, confusing the audience. Another character has clothes on in one clip, and doesn't in another clip which is a filming error. |
