pRACTISE SHOTS
We have selected our best two and worst shots which we will consider using for our opening title sequence. We will compare and annotate notes about them discussing the good and bad features, and how we could use he shot if we improved it.
We decided not to include this shot/footage in our opening title sequence as we don't think it has the potential with effects on to scare our audience. The quality of the shot is blurred and not in focus which was down to the settings we chose on the camera. However, we are going to take into consideration the angle of this shot as we think it could be good when used for a different character and scene.
Using a low angle made this a good shot of the 'rabbit man' as it makes him look intimidating, in power and horrifying. The gate was used to represent the character as being forever trapped; this is because our film is about spirits and purgatory. As rabbit man is trapped, the audience get to see the rage boiling inside of him, making the whole opening sequence illustrate a terrifying tale about broken souls that never found the sweet release of death.
We discovered this to be a bad shot as the whole character's face is not in shot when it is supposed to be a medium shot. We also didn't use this for our opening title sequence because after the character has walked down the steps backwards a few times again, the body is not in shot and you can only see the head. If we wanted to use this scenery and location we can improve the shot by bringing the camera backwards so the more of the character's body is in shot. The angle of this shot could also be improved by lowering it down so it turns into a worms eye view and makes the character more intimidating and represents them as in power.
